* Teacher will be required to use QQI Levels 3 and 4 certification
instruments.
* Teacher will also be required to teach other QQI modules that may
benefit learners? literacy/numeracy; including Communications,
Numeracy, Computer Literacy, English, Business English, and other
modules as appropriate.
Kylemore CTC is located in the Ballyfermot Resource Centre, 1st Floor

The role of the CDETB (Hours in Cooperation) teacher involves working
with the Community Training Centre and KCTC staff to deliver training,
education and personal development programmes to young people aged

dropped out of mainstream education. Learners may have educational,
emotional (and other) needs that may or may not have been diagnosed or
dealt with previously. An ability to work with older teenagers in a
non-formal setting is essential.
Staff in the Centre plan work in an integrated manner to ensure
quality services are delivered to the individual. Staff are encouraged
to work with their colleagues and clients in a respectful, positive
and understanding manner.
By working together staff have access to the expertise of a
multi-disciplinary team to enhance delivery of services to particular
client groups within areas of their own expertise. A collegiate
approach is central to the work of staff in all KCTC programmes.
The CDETB teacher will be encouraged to adopt the core principals of
KCTC as they carry out their duties and will be supported by KCTC to
fulfil their role to the best of their ability.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS FOR HOURS IN COOPERATION
* Significant experience of working with young people in non-formal
settings delivering QQI modules at levels 3 and 4.
* The ability to integrate I.T. based learning, literacy/numeracy
development and other pedagogical skills and approaches.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Excellent administration skills.
* A learner-centred approach to the work.
* The ability to work effectively with KCTC staff, learners,
external partners, employers and others as appropriate to support
learner progression.
* A knowledge of QQI and the National Framework of Qualifications.
* A working knowledge of the key state agencies who work with early
school leavers.
* Openness to learning, development and change.
* Planning and organising skills.
